Unbeknownst to 98 percent of the population a major event occurred on October 1st that impacted all Doctors. The government, for the first time in 30 years, revamped the codes used by health care practitioners to submit insurance claims. The number of codes went from literally hundreds to tens of thousands. This is placing great stress on the health care system- to upgrade computer systems, change practices, and by confusing practitioners and patients alike! All under the heading of Administrative Simplification. This is part of a bigger issue- how our government and big business are ruining health care.

An ever increasing cost is being put on health care consumers- in the form of higher insurance premiums, higher drug prices in the name of profits, and overwhelming confusion among the public. Rather than rely on the government, or the insurance companies, to solve our health care crisis, we all need to take control of our own health. Three key areas for anyone are what you eat, how you move, and what you think. It can seem daunting but some simple strategies will help your magnificent body begin to heal itself more efficiently.

Nutrition; The only thing all nutritionists agree on are- eat less sugar (watch out for hidden sugars!), eat less processed foods, and eat more veggies!

Exercise- Move your body! Daily, gentle, movements done throughout the day will increase energy, reduce pain, and facilitate healing.

Thought processes; Have faith in your body rather than fear. Healing comes from within, not from a pill or a potion. Expect to find an answer to your health concern, experiment to find what works for you, and don’t get discouraged!
